United fans to be gifted bucket hats and flags at FA Cup final

Manchester United fans attending the Emirates FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on Saturday will each be gifted a limited-edition bucket hat and hand waver flag.

The aim is to create a red-and-white wall of support to back United in the pursuit of a second trophy this season.

The hats and flags follow on from the success of the red-and-white scarves that were placed on every seat of the thousands of fans who cheered the team to victory in February's Carabao Cup final. The flags, made from recycled plastic bottles, will bring a vibrancy to the United end as we aim for a 13th FA Cup success in the club's 21st appearance in the final. After the game, any flags not taken as souvenirs will be recycled.Fans will find their bucket hats and flags on their seats* when they arrive in the stadium for the first all-Manchester final in the 151-year history of the world's oldest cup competition.

Rick McGagh, Manchester United's head of fan engagement, said: "After one of the busiest seasons in our history we wanted to reward fans with something they can use during the summer break. "Our fans have been brilliant again this season and the role they play in inspiring the team has been so important during this long campaign. I know Erik ten Hag and the players really value and appreciate the dedication of everyone who supports our club and they are determined to win our second trophy this season by lifting the FA Cup for the 13th time.
